Volunteers needed for EUROpean Cultural Cup- Wroclaw 2011
Become a volunteer for an international youth football tournament (boys ages 12-14) that will be taking place in Wroclaw, Poland almost one year before the UEFA EURO 2012TM competition !! The city of Wroclaw is our organizational partner. *Idea: To organize and host a soccer tournament of European international schools under the theme of Inter-cultural awareness.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Tournament will take place between in Wrocław 25th and 28th May 2011.
*Purposes:
Purpose 1
To promote Inter-cultural awareness (especially of European cultures), as Poland will be hosting many people of different cultures for UEFA EURO 2012TM.
Purpose 2
To promote UEFA EURO 2012TM as well as the city of Wrocław, one of the host cities for UEFA EURO 2012TM.
*Structure:
• Invited international school teams will participate in a boys U14 soccer tournament under the theme of inter-cultural awareness.
• Teams will be divided into groups. Every team will play a minimum of 4 matches and maximum of 6 matches during the tournament. There will be a championship and consolation bracket after the group stage.
• Each team will be also responsible for organizing a 8-10 minute video presentation that will focus on the culture of their host country in which they attend school.
• Along with the presentations each school will be required to make a cultural display about the country they are representing in the tournament.
Benefits: All volunteers will be provided with water and lunch each day.
