Returns to work by volunteering
„Sport volunteering – get involved” commenced in May, 2011. One of its main objectives is to support the unemployed in gaining skills necessary to re-enter the job market. The programme constitutes a part of Polish preparatory procedure for Euro 2012, coordinated by PL.2012 [SPV].
What is the essential objective of the programme?
The programme aims at the occupational development of the unemployed via trainings and practices in sports organizations so as to help the former enter or re-enter the job market. Sports volunteering is going to set up a vehicle to obtain the aim. Volunteers will master indispensable know-how on the assistance at mass sports and cultural events. Every beneficiary of the programme will receive a special training in how to effectively participate in enrollment procedures and job interviews, draft CVs and motivational letters, etc.
Who is eligible for the programme?
The unemployed and economically inactive people. Women between 18 and 59 years old, men between 18 and 64 years old. Residents of the following districts [of the Republic of Poland]: wrocławski, średzki, trzebnicki, oleśnicki, wołowski i jeleniogórski. The programme beneficiaries will have an individual training schedule, i.e. a vocational counselor will ascertain the individual programme upon carrying out the career potential analysis. 650 individuals and several dozen sports organizations will participate in the project.
Trainings and practices
Pursuant to the concept of the project, the volunteers will take part in trainings and practices. The volunteering part will carry on within the first three months of the project lead time, eight hours a day. The practices will carry on in sports organizations within the last three months of the project, on a half-time basis, remunerable to the persons involved. The practices are going to provide support to the participants in gaining professional experience - and consequently - in enhancing chances for a new career.
Project managers
„Wolontariat - włącz się!" [Volunteering – Join in!] is a systemic project subsidized by „Program Operacyjny Kapitał Ludzki” [Human Capital Operational Programme] Measure 6.1.1., implemented i.a. in the province of Lower Silesia – the host of Football Championship EURO 2011. PL.2012, a special purpose vehicle of the Polish Ministry of Sport and Tourism, is in charge of the project. It is also supported by the Lower Silesian Marshall Office in partnership with Dolnośląska Federacja Sportu [Lower Silesian Sports Federation].
The project lead time falls between May 2011 and August 2012.
